The River Rowing Association of Nyack, NY invites you to join in the challenge: a 25 kilometer race from the Tappan Zee Bridge to the George Washington Bridge along the mighty Hudson River. This year’s course will reverse our upriver race from last year.

DIRECTIONS
Nyack Marina (trailer parking, Friday evening registration, launch site)
Located in Nyack’s Memorial Park (2 Depew Avenue, Nyack, NY 10960)
There will be racks set up to store rowing shells and kayaks. If you have your own portable racks, please bring them as there will be room to set them up in the park.
Englewood Picnic Area directions (finish line)
This year, we have reversed the course and will finish by the GW Bridge. There will be food and refreshments for hungry rowers, paddlers...

It started as a challenge from River Rowing Association Director Ivan Rudolph-Shabinsky to the members of the RRA -- could we complete a row from the George Washington Bridge to our home site, just past the Tappan Zee? Once asked, the question needed answering. So, one Saturday morning, a number of diehard RRA rowers headed to the southern shores across from Manhattan, to launch their boats in search of that answer. They all completed the task -- and had fun doing it. Not like kickball fun...

Due to the potentially difficult conditions and the length of the race only experienced crews are invited to compete. Although there will be chase boats, crews will largely be on their own and safety will depend on the safe, orderly, sportsmanlike conduct of rowers. All craft will be required to carry life preservers, bailing equipment and a cell phone in waterproof container. All boats will be checked for this equipment prior to launch.
