Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site
Friday, February 11, 2011
WhooWhooWhoo inhabits the woods around the Stony Point Battlefield? Great Horned Owls and Eastern Screech Owls, that's who! Join in the fun on Friday evening, February 11, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. and listen to the night sounds to locate these magnificent creatures. Rockland Audubon Society members will lead the group on a walk along the site's drives and paths to find owls. Recordings will be used to draw the owls in and powerful search lights will illuminate them briefly for viewing. Dress warmly and bring a flashlight, the program will last about one hour. Gates will open at 7:00 PM. **Please arrive on time as the group will be walking along road ways.** Park in the lot and walk to the Memorial Arch for the start of the adventure.
