Planes to zoom over Hudson River to prep for Red Bull air race
Pilots are beginning test flights over the Hudson River in preparation for this weekend's Red Bull Air Race World Championship along the shorts of Liberty State Park in Jersey City and Ellis Island.
The 14 planes will take off from Linden Airport.
There were originally 15 planes, but an Australian pilot was banned after his plane splashed the surface of the Detroit River during the Ontario portion of the race.
There are three legs of the race after the one in Jersey City: Berlin, Budapest and Lisbon.
