Step back in time to the winter of 1782 when George and Martha Washington resided at Headquarters in Newburgh. Surround yourself in the charm of a traditional holiday gathering at Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site December 14th from 3-6 PM for our annual Candlelight Tour. Wander through seasonally decorated rooms while The Salmagundi Trio performs with the enthusiasm of a Command Performance for the General. Costumed Historic Interpreters add to the unique experience by sharing insights into life at the Headquarters. Special Admission price is $4.00, age six and under are FREE.

Come to the Headquarters and find out what was happening the final winter of the American Revolution. As you tour the Hasbrouck House amidst the holiday decorations, you'll discover that the business of war never stopped. Experience how "soldiering on" in winter could be very different from what you might expect. Forms, letters and orders created and sent by Washington and his Aides-de-camp kept them busy from dawn until dusk.
Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site is a registered national landmark. It is located at the corner of Liberty and Washington Streets, within the city of Newburgh's East End Historical District.
